@cuegod

Puzzle Paladin Round II involves two steps. First step is for the Puzzle Paladins to answer one of the following three questions given by the Dungeon_Master:

  • How did you learn about the Covalent?
  • What is the most important Covalent use case in your opinion — and why?
  • Why is indexing blockchain data important?

50 XP/USDT was rewarded to @cuegod(Telegram) for giving the best answer to the question What is the most important Covalent use case in your opinion — and why?

Second step involves answering series of mini-puzzles in Covalent_Official_Bot. Puzzle Paladins first need to interact with the bot using the command /quiz to receive the sequence of puzzles.

The Puzzle

Here is the first mini-puzzle

Ethereum was the obvious answer for this as it is mainly the focus of Covalent at that time. Searching for Ethereum co-founder leads us to Vitalik Buterin, who also was the co-founder of Bitcoin Magazine. Next, we search where Vitalik was born which gives us Kolomna, Russia. The bot only asks us about the name of the town so we submit Kolomna.

Clicking the imgur link shows us this picture

This seems like a normal picture of a snowy mountain but we can notice the telegram icon. This suggests that there’s something in the image that relates to telegram. Upon further investigation and zooming in :D, we can see this

Hidden word: @dd_demo

Nice! That username leads to t.me/dd_demo (D&D Cov) and the next part of the puzzle.

Let’s look for the HQ of Covalent. The best course of action for this is to go to the official website>Contact Us, and look for the Covalent HQ address. We will then have

Covalent Global Headquarters
#602–151, W. Hastings St.
Vancouver, BC V6B 1H4, Canada

And then use Google Maps to locate this address (image view is our bff for this).

#602–151, W. Hastings St.
Vancouver, BC V6B 1H4, Canada

We can see the nearest square called Victory Square. Victory is not the answer though. Going back to the hints, it is asking us to investigate the monument.

Victory Square Monument

What now? If we go back again to the very first hint Image: https://imgur.com/a/6nv3BkG Live for?

Live for…what? Let’s go back to the monument image and investigate(zoom). We’ll notice this.

THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE

Live for Evermore.

Submitting evermore to the Covalent bot gives us the final puzzle.

One can easily determine that this is a Binary. Using an online decoder, this code translates to

find codeword in covalent TG ann channel

The final answer was in the Announcement channel all along! Either way, the word in the ann channel description was CW:analytics.

Submitting analytics concludes end of Round II.

Success!

Acknowledgement

A big thanks to Covalent and Dungeon Master for making these puzzles! Round II was so challenging and involved a lot of steps(and zooming) but it was a lot of fun. This round was a mix of introducing the solvers a lot of things about Covalent such as their physical address and the scope of its services at that time which is Ethereum, and also to test the solvers’ knowledge on data.

Also, congrats to all the solvers!

About Covalent

Covalent leverages big-data technologies to create meaning from hundreds of billions of data points, delivering actionable insights to investors and allowing developers to allocate resources to higher-utility goals within their organization. Instead of pain-stakingly sourcing data from a small handful of chains, Covalent aggregates information from across dozens of sources including nodes, chains and data feeds. The Covalent API then sources end users with individualized data by wallet, including current and historical investment performance across all types of digital assets. Most importantly, Covalent returns this data in a rapid and consistent manner, incorporating all relevant data within one API interface.
